Cycle Syncing: How to ALIGN YOUR liFE with your cycle
Cycle Syncing is a topic that lights me up SO much. I remember learning about the four seasons of our menstrual cycle four years ago and being amazed how it isn’t common knowledge. I then started working with my cycle and used it to enhance my life. I felt more aligned, energised and balanced. I speak about Cycle Syncing a lot with my clients and within Soul Space community and I’m so excited to share more here, for you.
What is Cycle Syncing?
Cycle syncing is being attuned with the four phases in your menstrual cycle and working with the hormones and the energy of each phase. More of this later.
However, you don’t have to have a regular monthly bleed to do this, you can also do this working with the moon cycle.
One of the most powerful things you can do as a woman, is to connect to your cycle.
We aren’t meant to be “on” or “going” all the time. This is a construct of the masculine, patriarchal system we live in.
Your cycle is here to guide you through life, to help you enhance and evolve.
Within this, are certain seasons of rest, creation and inner reflection you are being called to journey through.
I’m going to breakdown the four phases of the menstrual cycle and how you can start working with these.
the four phases
WINTER (Day 1-7)
This is a phase of deep rest.
Even if it’s for half an hour during your bleed, lay in silence, listen to the heartbeat of your womb.
This is a time to listen and wait in taking action.
Any wisdom/ideas that come through, write them down, dance or express through art.
This is a phase where you can get clear on the next phase of your cycle - what you’re being called to do, be or step into.
On day 3, sit with your womb and ask what she is calling in for this cycle. Listen to the womb meditation below to tap into her wisdom.
SPRING (Day 7-14)
The energy of spring is that of new life and fresh starts.
What isn’t spoken about a lot is often in this phase, a lot of “stuff” can come to the surface.
Emotions, situations or feelings that haven’t been dissolved or cleared from your last cycle can come up so take note of this.
Journal “What am I feeling?” “What am I being called to look at in this cycle”?
This is also a time to take actionable steps and plant the seeds you wish to manifest in Summer.
The key is not to get overwhelmed and know you don’t have to plant 10 seeds.
Your Soul isn’t in a rush.
Choose 1 or 2 things related to your business or life you wish to come into fruition and start taking actionable steps to get there this season.
This is a perfect time to try new things, collaborate and begin new projects.
Allow yourself to be creative, dance, create art, write! 💃
SUMMER (Day 14-21)
It’s time to bloom!
This is the phase to actualise your seeds. Celebrate the birth of your new babies you’ve created.
This is also a a great time to be extra extraverted - book presentations/meetings, be social, book your calendar!
You will have a lot more energy to share this cycle.
This is the time where you’re most fertile, so you may feel a rise in your sexual/creative energy.
Use this to extra charge your creations!
Write a list of all the things you’re proud of.
AUTUMN (Day 21-28)
Just like the leaves begin to fall in nature this is a time for you to release and shed before your new cycle.
You may feel lower energy or more clear as you don’t have all those hormones surging.
This is a great time to do all your nitty gritty tasks as you can often feel more focused.
Tie up loose ends with conversations, projects and clearing.
Find ways to move your body and process emotions through hip opening stretches or dancing. Cardio is also really good during this phase!
how you can start aligning your life with your cycle?
Firstly, to start aligning your life with your cycle, start tracking your cycle.
If you don’t have a regular bleed you can align with the moon cycle.
When it’s a full moon, this is day 1 of your bleed (winter).
You can use an app to track or write at the top of your journal each morning what day you are on.
Then, use the practices above I have shared for each phase to start aligning your life with your cycle.
To take it one step further, start tuning into your bodies unique cycle.
Take note of what food, how your libido feels and your energy levels, each day during your phases.
Getting to know your body, energy and mind on this level, allows you to truly work WITH it, so you can flow through life with more ease and balance.
